  12. Don't get me wrong, THOR is great, but I don't want to load ALL articles 
  13. in my subscribed newsgroups, which may contain hundreds of long 
  14. articles.  I'm looking for a newsreader which:
  15.  
  16. * Supports NNTP transfer, and reading while online.
  17. * Loads the headers only, when I specify which group I want, and lets me
  18.   select which articles I want.
  19. * Lets me specify how many headers I want (rather than read hundreds),
  20.   or at least has a "stop" gadget.
  21. * Shows me how long an article is before I read it.
  22. * Shows threads properly...

  24. I've used GRn 2.1a, and Tin, but neither seems to do what I want.  
  25. Using THOR to retrieve headers etc. seems clumsy for what I'm looking 
  26. for.  The Windows world has a great freeware newsreader called 
  27. NewsXPress, surely the Amiga can compete with this???  If not, is there 
  28. anyone out there working on such a newsreader?
